Kaisha Kunin formed in Bologna in 2009 out of a random meeting between Marco Sammartino and Jack Calico. Their genre spans different rock styles, from stoner classics to fringes of blues, garage, surf, rock'n'Roll, pop tunes and beat gen. The idea being to throw all pre-existing rock genres of the planet together, and creating a sharp cut from the standardization of the song form that's been reigning the last decade. This is why they prefer to talk about Open Rock. It's a direct, fresh, powerful, melodic, easy and chameleon-like listen. Kaisha Kunin's music demands going beyond the first track, the only way, to realise the eclectic nature of varying of styles, of approaches and of genres. Original tracks and lyrics in English...The magnificent 4 happen to meet, and as often does happen in these unions borne of public noticeboards of all varieties and bumping into each other at muso night hangouts around the city, each of them bring to the project their diverse musical experiences. Jack Calico (ex Plaster Caster): Guitar essence of American Blues, rock'n'Roll, swing, gypsy sweet'n'Hard from Messina. Marco: Voice/Guitar/Writer, from Ascoli Piceno Sergio Basso (ex sancheznoteenganches): From Santiago del Cile, the band's funk crossover lung who has played all different sorts of genres in his career getting here from Spain. And Giovanni, on drums, new in the band as of October 2011, a drummer with great technical awareness.
